WATSAN’s life-saving water and sanitation projects are made possible by three dedicated teams of people. The common factor that brings us together is our belief that accessible safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene education should be available to all. We seek to embody the Christian values of compassion, fairness, integrity and trustworthiness, working in partnership for the common good, and leading by the example of Christ.

Ugandan Management Committee

The Ugandan arm of the charity is supervised by the Management Committee, made up of senior staff from Rukungiri and Kanungu dioceses, together with community representatives who have skills and knowledge in water, sanitation and health. This committee is overseen by Bishop Dan Zoreka. Ugandan accounts are audited annually by a local professional.

UK Support Team

The role of the UK Support Team is to manage fundraising in the UK and to support and encourage the Ugandan team in the selection and implementation of projects. Members of the support team regularly visit the field as representatives of our donors, and ensure that the organisation abides by the good governance required by the Charity Commission.

Ugandan Staff Team

Project implementation is undertaken exclusively by local workers, including construction, education and management. The team is headed up by our Field Director, Canon Baingana Eric Mugyenzi and includes technical and educational groups, plus core admin staff.

Donors

Of course, none of our work would be possible without the generosity of our donors. From regular monthly donations to occasional large bequests, the financial support of dedicated individuals in the UK means that the team on the ground in Uganda can continue to improve the lives of people in their communities, day in, day out. We especially value regular contributions because they contribute to our ongoing programme management costs, and provide us with a basis from which to launch applications to government, trusts etc, on whom we depend for larger project costs.
